Design

It is a good-looking desktop. It carries a stylish design language that should go well with the younger audience of today’s generation. There is ventilation on either side, and that should help with the cooling process. There is nothing in the front which means you need to go to the back side to reach any of the ports.

The keyboard and the mouse are pretty good. Both are made for gaming, and it shows. If you are not too specific about the keyboard and mouse you want for gaming, these will do just fine. The desktop is slightly heavier than most of the other machines in this range, so not that great for moving around now and then.

Let’s talk about the processing power in the iBuyPower AM-FX01 gaming desktop. We have an AMD FX 4300 quad-core processor. This one comes in with a clocking frequency of 3.8GHz and does an impressive job. This processor is nowhere close to the core ‘i’ chips from Intel but still does its job.

It runs both the OS and other third party apps without any problems. You can also run pretty much any game you want as there is enough processing power to handle it (graphics card performance discussed later). If you are a light user, then you will be happy with the way this thing performs.

There are eight gigs of DDR3 RAM for memory in the iBuyPower AM-FX01 desktop. This is a good amount of memory for gaming in a mid-tier device. This memory is enough for most of the games and even if you need more, you can upgrade the memory as this is a desktop setup.

Design

There are 4 USB ports on the front out of which two are USB 3.0 ports. There is also a media card reader and an optical drive in the front as well.

Ventilation happens the sides and the back where there is a fan. At the back, you find a couple of USB 3.0 ports, a couple of USB 3.1 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, and all other necessary connectivity options as well. Overall, this design is as usable as it is pleasant on the eyes as well.

There are some minor issues as well. With this new design, you lose all the ports on the front. You have to reach the back in order to use the ports which is a step behind in terms of accessibility. Other than that there aren’t any problems with the design.
